A newbie graduate called my personal business line the other day to ask why I felt it important to join the IFSG? (This happens often. I generally get a call every other month.)  Hear heartfelt answers about why the IFSG is important to her – from Bridget Saraka, IFSG CEO (2013-2017).

Here is my response;

#1 I felt it important to align myself with a Professional Body of Feng Shui Consultants that sets me apart from those who have the chops aka education to back up what they are promoting. I wanted something to help me highlight my skills and rise above those who have only read a few books and call themselves, “Experts.”

#2 I wanted to have a community and sense of belonging in a field which can be somewhat isolated. The IFSG is by far the best organization I’ve found that does that! Our Facebook Virtual Chapter is the most open and welcoming group of Collective Professionals from all Feng Shui Perspectives. By far this is exceptional value!

My Honey asked me the other day, “so why do you feel the need to volunteer for the Guild?”

My reply;

#1 It’s not a need but a desire to contribute to my passion in a community that I feel is outstanding.

#2 My work is a soul-gig aka an alone gig. It’s me on the road, in my office, on the phone, writing, creating, etc. Volunteering for the IFSG takes me out of my “alone time” and brings me to a community vibration. I feel a sense of belonging as a member of the IFSG. It is my desire to help others have a sense of belonging as well. Together we raise the consciousness of Feng Shui.

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE YOU ALL!

Bridget, along with the IFSG Board of Directors, passionately volunteer their time to be a part of the leadership of the IFSG.  Finding a balance of staying true to our core mission and vision and honoring our founders dreams for us, while moving forward with opportunity and advancement is may seem daunting – but they take it on with gusto and love.  Our members and their benefits, growth and advancement, responsibilities to our public, promotion of Feng Shui is their passion.  The IFSG wins with their dedication and grace.  We are so grateful.
